Act for the Bicentennial of the first raising of the Flag in Malvinas
The Malvinas e Islas del Atlántico Sur Museum carried out on Friday an act in the framework of the Bicentennial of the first raising of the National Flag in the Islands.
"We commemorate these 200 years of the first raising of our flag in Malvinas in this Belgranian Year, a 250 years of his birth and 200 years of his death ", affirmed the Minister of Culture of the Nation, Tristan Bauer.
The official added: “This permanent defense of the sovereignty of our peoples is a fight against colonialism. Today we have to defend our sovereignty from peace and with great firmness. The Falklands were, they are and will be Argentine ".
Meanwhile, the museum director, Edgardo Esteban, highlighted that after the inauguration and the raising of the national flag in the Malvinas Islands in 1820, "We began to mark our path of sovereignty, that was violated in 1833 with the British usurpation ”of the archipelago. And expressed: "Malvinas is a transversal cause, like our flag. It is present in our identity, in our collective construction as Argentines and Argentines. Today we close this Belgranian year, commemorating the bicentennial of the first time that our light blue and white flag flew in Malvinas ".
The event was attended by the senator for Neuquén from the Frente de Todos, Oscar Parrilli, of the Nation's Treasury Attorney, Carlos Zannini; from the Secretary of Human Rights, Horacio Pietragalla; from the Secretary of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, Valeria Gonzalez; and the national director of museums, Marisa Baldasarre.
