Renowned director William Friedkin passed away Monday at 87 years, a few days before the premiere of his next film, which will be released at the Venice Film Festival.

Friedkin has been responsible for two of the greatest cinema classics, such as "The Exorcist" and "Contact in France". His filmography also includes titles such as "Living and dying in Los Angeles", “Cruising” y “Killer Joe”.

“The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial” is the name of his recent work led by Kiefer Sutherland and which will be released on 30 August as part of the prestigious festival.

Combining his television experience, particularly in documentaries, with an avant-garde editing style, Friedkin brought a great deal of energy to the crime horror and thriller genres in which he specialized..
