The five recognitions corresponded mostly to the so-called technical items; while the local “Girls”, by Pilar Palomero, followed with four awards in the main categories, among them for the best film.
In this way, though “Akelarre” topped the list, the triumphs of “Girls” appear as the most relevant in the final list of winners, Spanish newspapers stand out.
Argentine Agüero's film won the costume design categories, makeup and hairdressing, special effects, music, and artistic direction.
Meanwhile, “Girls” he won the awards for the best film, best new director, original script and photography.
Omen, born in Mendoza and based in France, captures in “Akelarre” a story set in the Basque Country in 1609, and follow Ana, who participates in a party in the forest with other girls from the village and a judge, commissioned by the King to purify the region, arrests them and accuses them of witchcraft.
