Announce measures for sectors of culture hit by the pandemic

The Ministry of Culture of the Nation, together with ANSES, today announced a series of measures and economic support aimed at sectors of the cultural industry and their workers, affected by the health emergency.

“These measures are responses to what is proposed by this situation of so much disease so much death that it hits the cultural industries throughout the world (…). These are assistances that we will continue to maintain while we see how the pandemic develops. We will solve each of the particular cases”, said the Minister of Culture, Tristan Bauer, in the announcement of the measures.

“These are our concrete answers that have to do with our memory, history and ways to stand up in times of crisis. We will continue working on these lines”, Bauer said, adding: “We would like to return immediately. In the meantime you have to take care of your health”.

These are three measures for a total of $1658 million earmarked for about 51 people and also to theaters of the jurisdictions that adhered to the Decree 241/2021 and that, as a result, had to suspend scheduled functions.

As reported by officials, the Solidarity Culture program awarded 1600 million pesos throughout the country destined to 50.757 artists, workers of culture with 2 quotas of 15.000 pesos.

The subsidy for the support of the live show was also announced., with 50 million pesos allocated to theaters and theaters of the AMBA and all the jurisdictions that adhered to the Decree 241/2021 and that, as a result, had to suspend scheduled functions.

The financial support is divided into three categories linked to the capacity of each theater and will have an impact on the income of the actors., actresses and screenwriters, among other people from the performing arts, since it must have the same destination that the box office would have had.

At the same time, they also announced emergency economic support for the Andean Region, with a contribution of $ 8,1 million pesos destined to accompany 221 cultural workers in the area affected by the fires.

In addition to emergency financial support, the Solidarity Culture program was implemented; special incentives from the National Theater Institute and equipment by CONABIP. (TELAM)
