The Star + streaming services platform (Star Plus) will arrive in Latin America at the end of August, as confirmed by the company through a statement.

Thus, the audiovisual entertainment business will be expanded with the arrival of this new proposal that will offer exclusive content, original and also sporty.

The subscription to the service that will be available from 31 August will provide the possibility of having access to all seasons of series such as "The Simpsons", “The Walking Dead” o “This is us”. Blockbusters such as "Deadpool" or the recent Oscar winner "Nomadland" will also be featured..

In the sports category you can see the full content of ESPN, with the transmission of the most important tournaments in the world, local meetings and sports programs of the signal.

Diego Lerner, President of The Walt Disney Company in Latin America stated that "Star + will offer a personalized experience never seen before and will expand our connection with diverse audiences".

The manager added that "the strength of the content, which will include all ESPN, will make Star + a unique proposition, of relevance, identity and weight to establish itself as an independent digital service from Disney +. Having said this, its arrival will represent a complementary service to Disney + and will consolidate the presence of The Walt Disney Company in the Latin American streaming market ".

Lerner assured that with this new platform “we will also reinforce our commitment, sustained for more than 20 years, to develop, produce and deliver original local content representative of consumer tastes across the region, producing original content with production houses and talents from the region to tell stories that will connect with the Latino audience. We will do it through different genres that will allow us to tackle original fictional stories, relevant social and historical issues of general interest ".

It should be noted that Star + will be a complementary but independent streaming service from the one offered by Disney + in this region.

The service will be home to the exclusive premiere of television series and general entertainment films from The Walt Disney Company's content studios., including Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios, Star Original Productions, National Geographic Original Productions and more, as well as ESPN's live sports streaming service, the most respected and recognized brand for sports fans in the region.
