They announced a new film series in the Sala Lugones of the CTBA
Between Wednesday 22 September and Friday, October 1, the Leopoldo Lugones Hall of the Buenos Aires Theater Complex (CTBA) will carry out the cycle "Light, Camera, Click”, with a selection of six films.
This new proposal revolves around "The spirit of ecstasy", the photographic exhibition that takes place in the traditional venue located on Corrientes Avenue 1530.
The selection of feature films that are part of the cycle addresses the relationship between photography and cinema, from the obsession with the image and the subjects in front of the camera lens, and includes classics like "Blow-Up", an extreme specimen of the sexploitation cinema of the years 70 ("Emanuelle in America") and rarely seen films by such filmmakers as Andrzej Zulawski and Henri-Georges Clouzot, among others.
Regarding "The Spirit of Ecstasy", It can still be seen in the Photogallery of the San Martín Theater and is made up of images treasured in the Fabio Manes archive - still photos taken during the filming of European films of the 70's and 80's., mostly belonging to the genus sexploitation–, with photographs from Alfredo Srur's Familias series, documenting the journeys of a group of women and men involved in the Argentine pornographic "industry" at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st.
The exhibition can be visited in person from Wednesday to Sunday from 15 a 20 hours, with free entry (according to current protocol).
The film that will open the cycle (with functions at 15 Y 18 hours) will be “Blow-up” a British-Italian co-production made in 1966, under the direction of Michelangelo Antonioni and performances by David Hemmings, Vanessa Redgrave y Sarah Miles.
Then, The sidewalk shows you the rest of the complete schedule. All films will have double duty, to 15 Y 18 hours.
