Emergency Economic Support for the Andean Region.

Developed by the Ministry of Culture of the Nation to accompany more than 200 artists and cultural workers who were affected by the fires.

The Ministry of Culture of the Nation carried out an emergency operation in the Province of Chubut aimed at contributing to the recovery of the Parallel 42 of the Andean Region. 221 artists, artisans and artisans and workers of the culture of the towns of Lago Puelo and El Hoyo, affected by the environmental tragedy, they accessed specially designed financial support.

In addition to emergency financial support, the workers of the region received the benefit of Solidarity Culture, created by the Ministry to strengthen the sector during the health emergency; of two special programs of the National Theater Institute and the purchase of equipment by CONABIP.

Total investment exceeded $8,1 million pesos and the economic aid reached 221 artists, workers of culture, 1 cultural space and 4 popular libraries. Thus, they were benefited a 79,4% of artisans and artisans; a 7,9% of musicians and musics; a 3,9% of visual artists; a 3,1% of performing artists and a 6,2% technicians and other trades.

A work team from the Ministry of Culture traveled especially to the areas affected by the fires in order to learn about the needs of hundreds of artisans and artisans., artists, fairgrounds and the rest of the workers who keep the Parallel culture alive 42 of the Andean Region, one of the most powerful and diverse in the country, who suffered this unprecedented environmental tragedy.

Programs will serve, among other things, to kick-start the local culture again and to, who work in the elaboration of local handicrafts, in artistic creation and cultural management, have an economic incentive.

This initiative was the product of the articulated work between the Minister of Culture, Tristán Bauer and the Secretariats of Culture of both localities, Soledad Laitano (Lake Puelo); Bethlehem Giordano (The hole) in coordination with the Undersecretary of Municipal Relations of the Ministry of the Interior, Pablo Giles.

“This year we set out to provide support to all cultural workers who need it, being one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic. We call it Solidarity Culture because we believe, fundamentally, that this is the commitment that must be assumed in a context as difficult as the one we are experiencing. With that same spirit, we offered to provide extraordinary emergency support to those who work in culture in Patagonia, Argentines who need the solidarity of all and the presence of the State to move forward and rebuild ", stated the Minister of Culture, stated Tristan Bauer, Minister of Culture.

 

By your side, the director of Federal Action of the Ministry of Culture, Laura Bianchi, met with the mayor of Lago Puelo, Augusto Sanchez, to take stock of the work done.
