Argentina had 18 nominations for the Quirino Awards for animation
Our country was one of the most prominent among the nominations for the Quirino Awards that will take place in Spain.
Total, Argentina got 18 nominations for the meeting that highlights Ibero-American animation production and will take place in Laguna, Spanish city located in Tenerife, the 13 of May.
Following this recognition, the country stood out among those that obtained the most nominations in the different categories of the prestigious award.
For the Best Ibero-American Animation Series category, the national co-productions “La orquestita” -Season 1-, by John Carve; "Small" -Season 3-, by Bernadette Ojeda; “Polinopolis” -Season 1-, of Maria Antolini and Martin Guido and “Underdogs United” -Season 1-, of Louis Grane and Peter Blumenbaum.
They compete for the award for Best Ibero-American Animated Short Film "Carne de Dios", directed by Patricio Plaza and “Pasajero”, directed by Juan Pablo Zaramella.
By your side, "Carlos Mountain", by Ita Romero and “Sweet”, Directed by Sofía Belén Sosa, are the two national shorts nominated for Best Animation School Short Film.
In the Best Ibero-American Commissioned Animation category there are four completely Argentine productions: “Afterparty”, by Derlis Santacruz; "The art of recovery", produced by Dante Zaballa; "This dog is weird", by Facundo Quiroga, Juan Nadalino and Sebastian García and "In front of me", by Yuliana Brutti.
Nominated for the Quirino Award for Best Ibero-American Video Game Animation are “Atuel”, developed by Matajuegos and Khoros, realized by Sureksu.
Finally, The Argentine productions "Las peripecias de Sir Percival" participate in the Quirino Award for the Best Visual Development of Animation Work, Directed by Becho Lo Bianco, Mariano Bergara and Javier Mrad and "Passenger", which garnered a total of four nominations, since it also represents our country in the Best Animation Design of Animation Work and Best Sound Design and Original Music of Ibero-American Animation Work section..
further, among the nominated contents there are four feature films that went through the Work In Progress section of Animation! in South Window, the film market organized by the INCAA together with the Marché du film of the Cannes Film Festival.
