Artists from different corners of the world will screen their works at BIM
The fifth edition of the Biennial of the Moving Image (BIM) will be virtual and will have the participation of more than 70 artists from different countries, of the 22 al 31 October.
The event that celebrates video and experimental cinema will be available to enjoy free of charge through the web (bim.com.ar), where unpublished works produced in countries such as Germany and the United Kingdom will be screened, by filmmakers and producers like Claudia Schmitz, Guillaume Cailleaux and Ioannis Savvidis, among others.
El eje central de la edición será el proyecto “Mirarnos a los ojos (To return to)”, an audiovisual platform that emerged from the experience of global confinement, produced by the center for research and development of projects related to audiovisual arts of the University of Tres de Febrero (Untref) with the support of the Goethe, the german institute of culture.
“Es un universo de videos realizados en tiempos de pandemia por artistas de diferentes rincones del mundo. In it you can find an extensive poetic diversity, simple pieces, sensibles y reflexivas puestas en diálogo”, the project managers tell, Gabriela Golder and Andrés Denegri.
“Faltará compartir el mismo espacio, the body will be missing, the spontaneous plan, the kiss. That is why we decided to give BIM this unexpected shape. 2020, para desplegar un espacio de encuentro a través de obras personales que han sido templadas al clima de este momento que nos toca transitar”, the artists wrote in reference to this new edition.
From Facebook accounts, Festival Instagram and Twitter, producers anticipate about programming, the guests and the news of the project with translation into several languages, so that users from all over the world can participate in this virtual event.
