Billy Idol introduced new study material after seven years
After a long period of absence from studies, renowned musician Billy Idol recently presented “Bitter taste”, a song (accompanied by a video clip) which will be part of his next EP entitled "The Roadside".
As explained by the artist, This song is based on the accident he suffered on board his motorcycle in 1990.
As for the EP, will be available from 17 September via Dark Horse Records and BMG, under the production of Butch Walker (who previously worked alongside Green Day and Weezer) y Steve Stevens (historic Idol guitarist and co-writer).
Lead single "Bitter Taste" features one of Idol's most introspective and confessional lyrics., in which he confronts death, rebirth and personal growth thirty-one years after his near fatal motorcycle accident in 1990. “I think everyone has been feeling more thoughtful (during the pandemic). So, it seemed quite logical and natural to write something about my motorcycle accident ", explica Billy Idol. "Definitely, the motorcycle accident was catharsis, time to wake up. A little bit of me stayed on that route. But in the end it wasn't necessarily a bad thing; it was a wake-up call. Perhaps on that path I left behind the irreverent and youthful Billy and opened the door for a more attentive father and a more sensitive musician ".
On the other hand, and to welcome you to this new studio job, the musician will give a series of concerts for the remainder of the year. In that context, there will be shows in renowned North American venues such as the Capitol Theater in New York and the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, as well as an appearance at the “Sea.Hear.Now” -Festival in Asbury Park in New Jersey-. Recently, Idol appeared alongside Miley Cyrus during her lead performance on Lollapalooza.
