Canela will be in charge of opening the Children's and Youth Book Fair

Gigliola Zecchin, better known as Cinnamon, will be in charge of providing her voice for the inaugural speech of the imminent Children's and Youth Book Fair.

The opening will be this Monday 10 July from the 17 in the Dome of the Kirchner Cultural Center, where the fair will take place until the end of this month.

Likewise, It will be the first time in the history of this meeting that a writer carries out the opening organized by the Fundación El Libro.

The fair, as well as all its activities, It can be enjoyed freely and free of charge in the traditional Buenos Aires venue located on Sarmiento street 151.

Born in Italy and in our country since childhood, Canela first studied in Mar del Plata, He trained in Córdoba and later settled permanently in Buenos Aires. As well as a writer and poet, she is an announcer, editor and host.

He wrote in different media and his television broadcasts are also remembered as "Good afternoon, Nice to meet you", “Café con canela”, "The journalism that comes" and "Imaginary collective".

She was also director of the department of children's and youth literature at Sudamericana and as such published some 250 Titles. wrote more than 40 books and is currently working on three projects: a novel about young people from stepfamilies, a book of stories about family legends and another of poetry. further, just received the Alija Grand Prix 2023 for his novel "The Bonfire".

Throughout his career, Zecchin was distinguished with two Konex awards, six Martin Fierro, the Knight Order of the Italian Government, a City of Vicenza Gold Medal as a tribute to his professional achievements, the Esquiú Silver Cross for his television program for children “La luna de Canela”, two Pregonero awards (Radial and Honor) and the recently mentioned Alija Grand Prix 2023 for his novel "The Bonfire".
