Carlos Furman inaugurates his first solo show at Gachi Prieto

The renowned photographer Carlos Furman will soon inaugurate “Historias. About faraway places and a hidden dream”, his first solo show at the Gachi Prieto Gallery.

The appointment will be on Saturday 4 March from 18 hours, With free entry.

This exhibition will remain open until Saturday 15 April and can be enjoyed from Monday to Friday from 14 a 19 in the enclosure located on Uriarte 1373.

Under the curatorship of Florence Qualina, the exhibition includes a series of unpublished photographs that work on the tension between reality and fiction.

Within this framework -and highlighting his marked career in the performing arts- Furman uses the toy figure to recreate fictional situations, playful, fantastic but always at the dawn of the possible, of the real.

With a marked trajectory, Furman has been responsible for the images of the Photography Department of the General San Martín Theater for more than thirty years., being one of the most important performing arts photographers.

He participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions in Argentina, among which are those of the National Museum of Fine Arts, Recoleta Cultural Center, Museum of Modern Art, Photogallery of the San Martín Theater and Ricardo Rojas Cultural Center, among other spaces.

Likewise, held exhibitions in Cuba, Uruguay, Chile, Italy, Poland, Brazil, Spain and Colombia. Among the outstanding national and international samples, meet "Happy Journey", “Treasures” and “Tango”.

In 2007 publishes the book "Tango" which wins the Second Prize for Best Book Printed and Edited in Argentina. Years later, in 2010, receives Mention at the National Salon of Visual Arts and in 2016 wins the Banco Nación Visual Arts First Prize. His works are part of the collections of the National Museum of Fine Arts and the National Museum of Modern Art., in addition to conforming the collections of private collectors.
