"Ashes of Paradise" -one of the great classics of national cinema- will be shown again this weekend, With free entry, in the Gaumont.

With the presence of its director, Marcelo Pineyro, the film can be seen on saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November from 21 and the 20, respectively.

this production, released in 1997, is the third feature film by Marcelo Piñeyro, after “Tango feroz, the legend of tanguito (1993) and "Wild Horses" (1995). The film features the performances of Héctor Alterio, Cecilia Roth, Leonardo Sbaraglia and Leticia Brédice, among other prominent figures of national cinema.

Its script was co-written between the director and Aída Bortnik, and the musicalization was in charge of Osvaldo Montes, who worked based on traditional themes such as "Sirtaki", from Zorba the Greek, "The Bible", by Vox Dei and “The Foreigner”, by George Moustaki, among others.

The success of this film not only had an echo at the box office but also in the awards that arose after its premiere, as the Goya for Best Spanish Language Film, the Silver Condor for Best Supporting Actress (Leticia Brédice) and four awards at the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana –Best Screenplay, Best music, OCIC Award (International Catholic Film Office) and second place in the Audience Award–.

In this history, a family of Greek origin will face charges for the death of a young woman, girlfriend of one of the brothers.

The victim, also, She is the daughter of a powerful businessman suspected of corruption and certain crimes, among which is the murder of the father of the three brothers.
