"How is a museum born? Foundational: the investigation on the beginnings of the fine arts entrerriano "is the name of the online activity that will be held on Wednesday 10 June from the 19.

It is an initiative of the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts Dr. Pedro and. Martínez, that is carried out thanks to the investigation on the traditional entrerriano enclosure carried out by Walter Musich and Karen Spahn.

The activity will take place through the Zoom platform with free and open access and the public will be able to enjoy the history of the first works that entered the heritage, his origins, the managements, the protagonists and the entire process of founding the museum through a journey through the first decade of its existence.

The proposal will reveal the most relevant aspects of an investigation initiated in 2016 from the museum and from a Framework Agreement signed between it and the Faculty of Humanities, UADER Arts and Social Sciences.

That job, called “Pedro Ernesto Martínez and the founding works of the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts of Entre Ríos. Patronage and institutionalization of an artistic heritage, 1925-1936”Constitutes the first formal investigation carried out on the artistic heritage of the provincial museum in its entire history, for which its authors obtained the Creation Grant award from the National Endowment for the Arts in 2018.

About this presentation, Walter Musich y Karen Spahn, Those responsible for the investigation expressed that "the question, How was a museum born? refers us in the case of the Fine Arts of Entre Ríos, to the confluence of political initiatives and decisions in a historical moment of construction of democratic and plural Argentina and the mediation of intellectuals and professionals, engaged in the formation of the national artistic field that it seems necessary to recover, collectively reassess and rethink together with the community ”.

In turn they added: The figure of Pedro E. Martínez in the role of promoter and Organizing Director appears as a protagonist of enormous influence, not only in the field of arts but also in Justice, higher education and public culture of its time ”.
