African American Film Series in the Manzana de las Luces

The Manzana de las Luces presents from today and every Wednesday in November the film series En Línea Afro, a series of projections related to Afro-descendant identity that takes place in the framework of the National Day of Afro-Argentines and Afro-Colombian Culture, what is celebrated this sunday 8.

With free and open access through its official site and social media accounts, the meeting will open with "Argentines also descend from those ships", a production that in 2013 made by the director Milena Annecchiarico.

This film tries to revalue the historical and cultural legacy of the enslaved and their descendants, generally forgotten in our country.

In that context, This documentary focuses on one of the most invisible issues in Argentine society through some experiences of activism, Afro art and vindication in the city of Buenos Aires.

The next films to be screened will be "No soy tu negro" (I am not your negro) -Wednesday 11-, the Raoul Peck (E.E.U.U., 2016); "Burned!” -18 of November-, de Gillo Pontecorvo (Italy, 1969) and "I am a drum" -25-, by Santiago Masip and Cecilia Ruiz (Argentina, 2015).
