“Fragmented Cleopatra” arrives in July at the Fable Theater
The show “Fragmented Cleopatra” will premiere on 8 July at the Fable Theater, by the hand of Diego Cosin and Natacha Méndez.
This version based on the texts of "Anthony and Cleopatra" by William Shakespeare is approached as a unique signifier in the universe of the female characters of the famous English playwright..
In that context, the work will be developed around two thematic axes such as the gender issue in the exercise of power and the questioned female desire in its different dimensions and its social resignification.
In this way, “Fragmented Cleopatra” takes its story from contemporary times, preserving historical nuances but without keeping a strict relationship with the historicity of the Queen of Egypt.
Cosin and Méndez will address the character of Cleopatra, focusing on female power, her passions and eccentricities and her obsessive love relationship with Marco Antonio.
The story is limited to the last period in the life of Cleopatra, that without keeping a rigorous historical relationship takes us to the days before his death.
The scenes of "Fragmented Cleopatra" will be full of dramatic events, inscribed in an oneiric atmosphere where the character does not resign himself to abandoning his power, taking situations to the limit, until its last consequences.
As for inputs, can be obtained at the ticket offices of the venue located on Agüero 444 or through the Alternative Theater System.
