The online edition of the Ventana Sur audiovisual market began

This Monday, a new edition of the Ventana Sur audiovisual meeting began online, the largest market in Latin America that brings together producers, distributors and industry people.

At the same time, in the First Cut and Final Copy sections, of the event organized by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) y el Film Market-Festival de Cannes, will compete 12 movies.

In the First Cut section, six Latin American films that are in the post-production stage were selected: "The happiness of things" (Brazil), de Thais Fujinaga; "Album for youth" (Argentina), by Malena Solarz; “Fogaréu” (Brazil / France), by Flávia Neves; “Trigal” (Mexico), by Anabel Caso; "Shame" (Mexico), by Miguel Salgado; and "Me and the Beasts" (Venezuela), by Nico Manzano.

Final Copy, will feature a selection of six recently completed Latin American fiction feature films, still unpublished or that have not crossed the border of their production countries and are looking for sales agents, distributors and programmers of international festivals.

The films are: "The mother" (Brazil), by Cristiano Burlan; "The visitor" (Bolivia / Uruguay), by Martin Boulocq; "Barbarism" (Argentina), by Andrew Sala; "The City of Beasts" (Colombia / Ecuador), by Henry Rincón Orozco; "My brothers daydream" (Chile), of Claudia Huaiquimilla; and "Princess Anaíra" (Brazil), by Sérgio Machado.

Thanks to First Cut and Final Copy, in the course of 12 years in which Ventana Sur was developed, some thirty Latin American films agreed to participate in competing international festivals, as well as the recruitment of distributors and international sales agents.

While the section for animation projects, space baptized as Animation!, will have three modalities: feature films, television series and the special director mentoring program.

The finalist projects will be evaluated by a jury made up of representatives of the Annecy International Animated Film Market (MIFA) and animation specialists.

The jury will choose four winning projects (two TV series and two feature films) that will be part of a special Animation program! in Annecy 2021.

Genre cinema will also take place with the Blood Window Lab sections, for projects in development, y BW Screenings, for finished films, in search of distribution sales.

At the same time, Genre DAC (Cinematographic Argentinean Directors) and ACCIÓN Mujeres del Cine have convened the first edition of PuntoGender within the framework of Ventana Sur (PuntoG), a space for film projects in search of co-production.

The activity that will take place online will consist of the pre-recorded presentation of the projects by their producers and directors through videopitchs accessible to professionals of the international film industry accredited in Ventana Sur and in virtual one-on-one meetings to promote agreements with the and interested participants.

They are also presented 12 Trailers of finished films by Argentine directors that will be seen on a platform from the same section of PuntoG, looking for distribution, sales agents and / or festivals.

There will also be a cycle of four virtual meetings to debate and highlight the work of women in the audiovisual industry.

Among the films will be "Where the cold wind blows", directed by Gwenn Joyaux, who will also participate in Blood Window with "The one that gave birth to you!”, both produced by Girobant.

The documentary will also take place from Docsur, an initiative of the Argentine documentary associations with the aim of putting their works in contact with sales agents, co-producers, international aid funds and programmers.

In this first edition DOCSUR made a selection of 9 projects in development that in video pitch format, that will be housed in the DocSur Pavilion for viewing during all days of the market.

At the same time, Platino Industria will award the Best animated feature film or TV series project in the Animation section!, as well as Best Fantasy Film in Post-Production Stage in the Blood Window Screenings section.

Through this agreement, Platinum Industry will deliver 3.000 dollars allocated to the development of the winning projects of both sections, continuing its commitment to support Latin American productions, but also as a preview of your next celebration in the year 2021.
