Visible Evidence documentary film congress begins in Buenos Aires
For the first time in Buenos Aires, and up 6 of August, edition number will be developed 24 del Visible Evidence, the international conference reference of documentary cinema, organized by the Audiovisual Research and Experimentation Laboratory (LAIE) of the Master in Documentary Journalism of the National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF), the Documentary Cinema magazine and the Argentine Association of Studies on Cinema and Audiovisual (AsAECA).
this meeting, one of the most prominent in the world, had its pre-opening on Tuesday night, with the screening of The sun island, by the German Thomas Elsaesser and will continue at the headquarters of the Borges Cultural Center of the Pacific galleries, the Margarita Xirgu Theater-UNTREF Space and the Haroldo Conti Memory Cultural Center.
In all these offices there will be several directors, critics and professionals belonging to 35 countries, who will give talks, conferences and dissertations on cinema, gender and current political engagement.
On the other hand, the Visible Evidence Buenos Aires coincides with the hundredth anniversary of the Russian Revolution and the 50 years of Che Guevara's death, both events that force "to contemplate the relationship between documentary film and revolutionary movements", as expressed by the organization.
In line with previous conferences, Visible Evidence XXIV will tackle the story, the theory and practice of cinema, TV, video, digital media, documentary photography and performance.
