A new edition of the International African Film Festival begins
This Wednesday 7 August will kick off a new edition of the Argentine International African Film Festival (FICAA).
The appointment will be at the National Library (located in Agüero 2502) starting at 18.30 and will have a tribute to Amílcar Cabral on the centenary of his birth. Professor Miriam V. Gomes will present a reflection on his life, thought and impact in Argentina.
On the other hand, the opening will include the screening of “Calling Cabral” (2022, 18 min), a fiction by Welket Bungué that explores the historical complexity of Guinea-Bissau through the mysticism and poetics of Cabral.
The festival will have various screenings, performances and tributes throughout August, With free entry.

– “The Malachite”, “Becheo”, “Those of us who survived”, “Omayma” y “Rentons” (21 of August, National Library).
– “Terra Mater – Mother Land” y “Togoland Projections” (28 of August, National Library).
The FICAA 2024 will take place in different locations in Buenos Aires: CCK, National Library and French Alliance of Buenos Aires, in addition to having a federal edition in Córdoba, Jesus Maria, Neuquén and Junín de los Andes.
