The renowned American actor Alec Baldwin starred in a real tragedy in the last hours by accidentally killing a cinematographer, in addition to hurting the director of the film he was shooting.

Baldwin was using a prop gun in the middle of filming "Rust.", his most recent film work, in new mexico.

In this context and for reasons that are reason for investigation, the revolver failed and killed Halyn Hutchins, cinematographer of 42 years and also injured the director of the tape, Joel Souza.

Hutchins was rushed to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where unfortunately he passed away.

As for Souza, of 48 years he was referred to the Saint Vicente Regional Medical Center but Frances Fisher.

According to the agency DPA , the investigation is ongoing but, at the moment, no one was arrested or charges filed. Detectives were interviewing witnesses and the incident remains under investigation. “open and active”, according to the sheriff's office.

Meanwhile, Rust Movie Productions LLC, the production company behind the film, also issued a statement: “The entire cast and crew have been absolutely devastated by today's tragedy., and we send our condolences to Halyna's family and loved ones. We have halted production on the film for an indeterminate period of time and are fully cooperating with the Santa Fe Police Department investigation.. We will provide advisory services to everyone connected to the film as we work to process this terrible event. ".

What happened recalls the tragic death of Brandon Lee, son of martial legend Bruce Lee, whose family also expressed, noting "Our hearts go out to the family of Halyna Hutchins and Joel Souza and to all those involved in the Rust incident".
