The tribute to Narcisa Hirsch continues at the Museum of Fine Arts
Until September 1st you can enjoy the temporary exhibition tribute to Narcisa Hirsch at the National Museum of Fine Arts.
During this exhibition, that can be appreciated freely and free of charge, Five short films by the artist and two documentaries dedicated to her work are screened, plus drawings, photographs and documents.
Under the name “Narcisa Hirsch. “Experiment and poetry”, la propuesta presenta además de la selección de piezas audiovisuales, drawings, photographs and documents as a tribute to this pioneering artist of experimental cinema in Argentina.
Curated by Gabriela Naso, art historian and museum researcher, The exhibition proposes to delve into Hirsch's poetic universe (1928-2024) through three drawings and five short films that entered the Fine Arts collection in 2019, when she was awarded the National Award for Artistic Career.
In one of the rooms, specially equipped with soft armchairs and wooden benches, the public can watch a selection of five experimental films continuously, among which the short film “Marabunta” stands out (1967), essential piece of Argentine experimental cinema. “Come Out” is also being screened (ca. 1974), “Patagonia” (1972), “Pink Freud” (1973) and “The Aleph” (2005).
further, Three ink drawings made in the 1970s are exhibited. 1960 and a series of photographs and documents of the artist. And the documentaries “Narcisa” are available to watch in theaters., by Daniela Muttis, and “The Refuge of Narcisa Heuser”, by Ruben Guzman, courtesy of the filmmakers.
This exhibition can be seen from Tuesday to Friday, of 11 a 19.30 and on Saturdays and Sundays, of 10 a 19.30 hours.
