The exhibition "Confabulations. Friendship and creation in Borges”
The Borges Cultural Center offers the possibility of enjoying the record left by the friendship between the famous writer and several other authors, as well as prominent artists Xul Solar and Emilio Pettoruti .
“Conspiracies. Friendship and creation in Borges (1923-1945)” is the name of the exhibition carried out jointly with the National Library and the Jorge Luis Borges Foundation that shows the cultural initiatives and publications of the great writer and his exchanges with other authors, artists and friends.
Due, the public will be able to enjoy a series of books, texts, photographs and videos that can be appreciated from Wednesday to Sunday, of 14 a 20 hours, on the second floor of the enclosure located on Viamonte 525.
The exhibition reflects works that arise within a common conversation. Friendships that are forged around a shared work. Think Borges in his networks, understand how his work emerges, to think at the same time the singular and exceptional, the disperse or the collective, but without whose consistency there would be no work.
Friendship was a constant in his vital journey, from the declared complicity with his predecessors to the affinity with young readers. The sample stops in the period between the decade of 1920 Y 1945, when “El Aleph” is published in Sur, thinking about that laboratory that were the magazines, cultural supplements, anthologies and collections, in which Borges invented and displayed his literature.
