The exhibition "The Flags of Juan Vallejo" continues with more activities

The Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires presented the activities within the virtual exhibition Las Banderas de Juan Vallejo that can still be visited on the website of the José Hernández Museum of Popular Art (MAPJH).

A 200 years of the death of Manuel Belgrano (1770- 1820), Juan Vallejo (1944- 2014) -Tucuman artist and multifaceted creator- paid tribute to the flag and the values ​​that it embodies: freedom, justice and national identity.

In this virtual tour you can see more than 20 works, sketches, preliminary and written studies of the series of the Flags of Juan Vallejo. To highlight the national symbol, the artist explores various techniques incorporating handmade elements typical of his native Tucumán.

The curator Carolina Pampliega as well as María and Victoria Paz, responsible for the Juan Vallejo collection and the artist's nieces, they will be the link and the kick to enhance and multiply the gaze on the artist who honors the creator of the flag.

In addition to the virtual exhibition there will be two talks: Tucumaneity, It will be an online chat on Thursday 9 July at 18 on being from Tucumán in the work of Juan Vallejo and his relationship with Manuel Belgrano between Raquel Zeitune (Tucumán Cultural Entity), Claudia Epstein (MUNT), Victoria Paz and Carolina Pampliega; and on Thursday 16 July at 18, there will be a dialogue between the artist Eugenio Cuttica with the works of Vallejo and he will give his reading on the creative spirit of the artist from Tucumán.
