Fourth edition of the UNHCR Foundation Concert with Refugees

With the presence of renowned artists, The UNHCR Argentina foundation announced that the fourth edition of the Concert with Refugees will be broadcast.

The appointment will be 5 November at midnight and can be seen both on Telefé and through the official UNHCR channel on YouTube.

From this meeting created to promote integration through the universal language of music, raise awareness about the harsh reality that more than 110 millions of refugees and displaced people in the world and to honor their strength will participate in Eruca Sativa, León Gieco, The Delio Valdez, Silvina Moreno, Joaquin Levington, Luba Tymchuk, Benjamin Amadeo, Germán Tripel and Flor Otero, among others.

This is the first year that it was held with a live audience and more than 1.800 Spectators were able to be moved by unique versions of well-known songs from the popular songbook.. All proceeds from this event are intended to provide direct aid to refugees and displaced people around the world., of which more than 43 percent are boys and girls, that escape, many times alone, facing unimaginable dangers in flight.

“Being part of a solidarity concert has a special flavor because by singing and generating joy, you are helping; and music has the power to summon a lot of people willing to help”, says Joaquín Levinton, TURF leader. German Tripel, also, adds “music unites minds, almas; it does not have limits, gender, borders, nor prejudices”.

The opening and closing of the event were led by Osvaldo Laport, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, the UN Refugee Agency.

Currently there are more than 870.000 the Argentinians who are part of “Ponchos Azules”, the supportive community that supports those who had to flee their homes in search of a safe place. It is expected that one million signatures will be reached soon..
