The “Barbie” movie has become a worldwide phenomenon and our country remained at the foot of that audiovisual frenzy that meant seeing the iconic character created by the toy company Mattel on the screen..

What was more than surprising were the numbers that were replicated at the local box office, coinciding with the push of the winter holidays. In this way and as detailed by the specialized site Ultracine, the film starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling became the highest-grossing production since the post-pandemic start, surpassing the 1.800.000 viewers.

If we add to this the income from international tanks such as "Oppenheimer", it is concluded that almost 3 Millions of people attended theaters in the last week.

Of these almost three million, the 56 percent corresponds to tickets that were cut by "Barbie". It is worth clarifying that the highest grossing film in the history of local cinema is "Toy Story 4", more than 6 million viewers. yes, the week that had the premiere of "Barbie" yielded better numbers than that week of 2019 in which the Pixar movie hit theaters (2.890.521 against 2.582.575).

The record strengthened its numbers with “Oppenheimer” (500 thousand tickets), "The night of the devil: The red door" (140.000) and "Mission Impossible: Death sentence part 1” (124.000).
