From Stern to Lestido, photography from a gender perspective

The Proa de La Boca Foundation announced, as part of your digital programming, a tour of the work of Grete Stern, Annemarie Heinrich, Adriana Lestido and Cecilia Szalkowicz, to approach Argentine photographic production from a gender perspective.

The meeting - which will take place next 5 October at 5 pm - presents an overview of the diversity of artistic resolutions when it comes to thinking about the representation of space -domestic and urban- from the 20th century to the present.

In charge of the Department of Education of Fundación Proa, The cycle also aims to pay particular attention to the subjective dimension of images in dialogue with their time., as reported in a statement.

This month, Proa dedicates its online activities to focus on photography from different perspectives and aspects of production in Argentina.

In this context the activity “Glances in space”, who will seek to ask himself about When did photography by women begin to become professional?What role has, and still have, photography in the construction of an imaginary about public and private space? How do both dimensions interact in the construction of an image? What role does technique play in this visual configuration?
