Tenth edition of the Book and Magazine Festival at the UNQ
The National University of Quilmes (UNQ) will carry out as of this Wednesday a new one –the tenth- edition of its classic Book and Magazine Festival, With free entry.
More than 30 activities open to the public, This meeting will take place until Friday 16, where you can also enjoy several parallel activities.
In this edition the main theme will be history, with the presence of publishers, authors and artists who will contribute different views and works on the subject.
Recognized as the main fair of independent publishers convened in a Public University, will be held for the first time in the Central Pavilion, with access both by Roque Sáenz Peña 352 as by Sáenz Peña and Chiclana, in Bernal, of 13.30 a 20.30 hours.
Regarding the activities, talks are highlighted, exhibitions, book presentations, artistic activities and a day of board games. In addition, the "Nota al Pie" Bookstore of the National University of Quilmes will offer discount tables.
In a joint way between Radio UNQ and Ahijuna, an Open Radio will also be held that will include a program with thirty activities.
The opening of the Festival will be in charge of the Orchestra of the Popular Library of the River. Later the public will be invited to play with a trivia about different proposals, organized by Guillermo Santos -creator of games like TEG Independencia- and the cooperative games of “Kakán, the quilmeña voice”.
Among the books to be presented are "Miss fine arts", de la quilmeña Lucila Morlacchi- and panels around the central theme of the Festival: the history. At 18 hours, in the University Auditorium, The film "Captive Books" -premiered this year- will be presented with free admission., with the presence of its director Gabriela Fernández.
During the Thursday session (between the 14 and the 17) A Bibliomobile will be open to the visit of schools and the general public, with oral narratives, music and poetry. There will also be different panels and presentations.
Within this framework, starting at 16, Lucia Aita (creator of "That such a crisis") will speak on the challenge of telling the story to boys and girls. They will also be Daniela Szpilbarg (editor of If Poland Were a Cake, about the second world war) and Roxana Boixados (author of books in the series “The Other Story”).
On Friday the open engraving workshop of Fernando Polito will be held, known as "The Xiclocleta". There will be a live stamp and exchange of graphic pieces, between the 14 Y 20.30 hours.
Continuing the motto of history, from 14 sociologist Jeronimo Pinedo (author of the recent "Zona Sur") will talk about local events with Alejandro Gibaut (member of the Board of Historical Studies of Quilmes).
Two hours later, other panels will convene authors such as Julia Rosemberg, Lucas Bilbao, Maria Elena Barral, Eduardo Wolovelsky, Sebastian Avila and Martin Liut, among others.
The event is organized by the University Extension Project “The south also publishes” and has the participation of different sectors of the University and the cultural world of Quilmes involved in the world of books, the magazine and the promotion of reading.
For teaching and non-teaching workers of the UNQ, the Solidarity Consumption Bonus will also be used, through which purchases are financed in installments without interest to be deducted from salary.
