They distinguished the Cervantes Theater for its "extraordinary conservation and beauty"

Recently, the National Association of Friends of the Historic Theaters of Spain (AMITHE) distinguished the Cervantes National Theater with the “Gregorio Arcos” award, in the framework of its XVII delivery.

This important distinction is due to the conservation of theatrical heritage in the world. It is a unique award of its kind in Spain and unique worldwide, that was born in memory of the patriarch of the cutlery in Albacete, Gregory Arcos, to distinguish an institutional or personal action of protection of the Spanish theatrical heritage.

Among the main arguments of the award, the traditional Buenos Aires area stands out for "its extraordinary conservation and beauty", in addition to a close link with the culture of Spain, since it was inaugurated by the great Spanish actress María Guerrero and her husband, Fernando Díaz de Mendoza does more than 100 years.

In previous editions, the Pérez Galdós Theater in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria received this distinction. (2021); the Montaslva Theater in Cerderilla (2019); the Royal Theater of Madrid (2018); the Calderon Theater in Madrid (2017); the Association of the Victoria Theater of Hellín (2016) and the ABC Newspaper (2014) among other notable buildings. The prizes will be awarded at the gala of the 24 September at 19 h at the Teatro Circo de Albacete in Spain.
