Two unique functions of "A tear showing" in La Carpintería
This Friday 28 October and 4 November the show “Una lágrima asomada” will offer its only performances at the La Carpintería theater, under an idea and direction of Lucas Di Giorgio.
Starring Jose Halfon, Char Sosa, Lucas Di Giorgio, Emilio Laurito, Nahuel Naife Guzman, Alexander Borges and Yecid Murillo, the play revolves around comfort and discomfort, power and vulnerability, trust and shame, of a group of men who frequent the milonga and its codes.
Within this framework, the thread of the text will be the personal stories that go through stages of childhood and youth of each of these men, intertwined with the power of this particular dance and atmosphere.
As explained by the creator and director Lucas Di Giorgio, the idea of the work was born "from rethinking and questioning various dynamics about masculinity". In that context, explained “in full quarantine, a group of men close to the universe of tango (dancers, teachers, aficionados, milongueros) we started meeting virtually to chat. Tell us experiences, raise doubts, discomforts, to learn, to understand, review complications, modify habits, all this framed in the field of tango, so wonderful and so complex at the same time”.
Thus, “we were called by the need to rethink certain codes and dynamics in already obsolete environments, still installed, that sometimes do not accompany this present that presses for gender equality and a fairer society”, I replaced Di Giorgio.
As for inputs, they can be obtained at the ticket office of the venue located on Jean Jaures 858 or by the Alternative Theatrical system.
