The artist Christian Marclay will exhibit his work at Proa21
“The music we look at” is the name of the next exhibition that will arrive at Proa21 and will bring together the work of the Swiss-American artist Christian Marclay.
This new proposal can be seen from 28 October and it will be the first time that it can be enjoyed in our country.
Marclay, winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale 2011 for his work “The Clock”, will bring to the venue located on Avenida Don Pedro de Mendoza 2073 a selection of scores and videos.
Through “The music we watch”, The public will have the possibility of experimenting and discovering other ways of listening to and seeing music through their interest in composition and the non-traditional use of classical musical instruments..
According to Marclay himself in an interview, “music runs through everything I do”. Clearly, This is seen in his musical ear and his interest in the visual forms that sounds acquire have allowed him to develop a large body of work that escapes classifications., since it explores various supports, including, video, who, sculpture and also performance.
Likewise, there will be several activities within the context of the exhibition, What will the guided tour with the artist be like?, an introductory talk with Martín Bauer, a sound activation and a concert by Leonello Zambón: Music for a long thin wire de Alvin Lucier & Cartridge music by John Cage.
