La Mujer y El Cine is a pioneering association in gender perspective in the world of culture. It was founded in 1988 by prestigious women of the cinema of our country: Maria Luisa Bemberg, Lita Stantic, Sara Facio, Beatriz Villalba Welsh, Susana López Merino, Gabriela Massuh and Marta Bianchi. Its objective is to stimulate other women to exercise leadership roles in the cinema, and disseminate a creative production that did not always have the support of the distribution and exhibition circuits, to put her in contact with the public, without gender distinction.

This joint initiative between La Mujer y el Cine and the Ministry of Culture of the City, through Impulso Cultural and BA Audiovisual, seeks to give visibility to the gaze of women, promoting the exhibition of films and short films made by women, in the current context.

Regarding the proposal, Vanina spataro, general producer of the Festival la Mujer y el Cine, Explain: “La Mujer y el Cine is proud to present some of the short films of the festival's official competition, continuing with its mission of making young directors visible. Our objetive, how do you 31 years, is to support a gender perspective focused on the valorization of the gaze and discourse of women with an explicit denunciation against sexism and discrimination in all dimensions of life. The BA Audiovisual proposal allows us to reach each house today, give access to a wide audience of a program selected and curated by La Mujer y El Cine and the possibility of sharing with the family ".
