The Cultural San Martín will celebrate the 40th anniversary of “Camila”
Upon completion 40 years since the premiere of the emblematic film that marked a milestone in national cinema, the San Martin Cultural Center will screen Maria Luisa Bemberg’s production throughout June.
The screenings will take place in the hall of the traditional Buenos Aires venue, located in Paraná 310 from Thursday 6 to 20.30. También habrá funciones los jueves 13 Y 20 at the same time and on Sundays 9, 16, 23 Y 30 to 14, with tickets that can be purchased at the Cultural box office or on its official website.
It is worth remembering that recently, the movie, the protagonists Imanol Arias and Susú Pecoraro, with producer Lita Stantic and the film team, were honored in the Alfredo Alcón Hall of the San Martín Theater, in order to highlight the value of the cultural heritage that this work represents for national cinema.
Within that context, Two performances were also screened to a full house at the Corrientes Avenue venue.. Due to its great impact, The public will be able to continue enjoying this outstanding film on the big screen.
“Camila” premiered on 17 May 1984 and was seen by more than 2.500.000 viewers. It received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film in 1985 and won the award for Best Actress at the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana in 1985.
The film reflects the love story with a tragic outcome of Camila O'Gorman and the young Jesuit Ladislao Gutiérrez.
O'Gorman, raised in a traditional family during the government of Juan Manuel Rosas, I defy all possible obstacles to be with Gutiérrez.
