The Festival Based on Real Facts is modified by Maradona

Following the death of the star Diego Armando Maradona and the subsequent declaration of three days of national mourning, the Festival Based on Real Facts will be rescheduled.

The meeting that was going to take place virtually due to the pandemic was scheduled for this Friday. But nevertheless, now will take place 4 Y 5 from December, where you will display your large number of activities and proposals.

In this opportunity, the meeting will bring together a group of writers, filmmakers and journalists like Serbian director Emir Kusturica, the American chronicler Susan Orlean and the Mexican writer Juan Villoro along with local references such as Ana Basualdo, Martín Caparrós, Pedro Mairal and Martín Kohan, with the slogan of debating the brittle boundaries between reality and fiction.

Orleans, meanwhile, will be in charge of kicking off the Festival. It is one of the main references of non-fiction, New Yorker chronicler and author of “The Orchid Thief”, whose film adaptation won an Oscar.

Among the outstanding international guests also appears the Serbian director and musician Emir Kusturica; the American journalist from the New Yorker, D.T. Max, the writer Iván Jablonka -author of “Laëtitia or the end of men”, the reconstruction of the femicide of a young woman that shocked France-, the Mexican Juan Villoro and the Spanish Silvia Cruz Lapeña, in charge of the News section of the Spanish edition of Vanity Fair.

Among other activities, the writer and journalist Mariana Enriquez will offer a profile workshop, while Martín Caparrós and Ana Basualdo will talk about their routes, the writer Pedro Mairal will dialogue with Juan Villoro about poetry, the humor, the chronicle and fiction; and there will be a panel by Ricardo Romero, Ivana Costa and Martín Kohan on post-pandemic effects in both fiction and non-fiction.

Within the framework of the meeting, the winning text of the 200 who were presented for the fourth Leamos de Chronicle Award, whose jury is made up of Julián Gorodischer, María Belén Marinone Soriano and Ernesto Picco.
