The edition 37 of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival began in the Astor Piazzolla Hall of the Auditorium Theater of the seaside resort, where it will remain until 13 of November.

This edition will be developed under a complete face-to-face modality, with 500 functions and programming integrated by 180 movies from 28 countries.

Within this framework, there will be a total of 50 nationally produced feature films that will integrate various sections. further, reinforcing its federal character, part of the programming will be exhibited simultaneously in theaters in Buenos Aires, Chubut, Córdoba, Formosa, Jujuy, The Rioja, Missions, Neuquén, Salta, Santa Fe and Tucumán.

It is worth noting that in this edition, the great honoree will be the unforgettable director Leonardo Favio, ten years after his departure. During the opening an audiovisual piece was projected to remember him and his niece -Luciana Jury- performed with Lautaro Matute some songs from the repertoire of that integral artist.

Another of the figures present was the actress Graciela Borges, who received recognition from the Ministry of Culture of the Nation for his role in the film "El dependent" and recalled with emotion his work with Favio.

The conduction was in charge of Gabriela Radice, and was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Nation, Tristan Bauer; the acting vice-president of the INCAA Presidency, Nicolas Batlle; the president of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, Juan Fernando Lima; and the artistic director, Pablo Conde, accompanied by the executive director of the National Social Security Administration (CONSIDERED), Fernanda Raventa; the president of the Cultural Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires, Florencia Saintout; and the president of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), Luis Scalella.
