With date confirmed for October, the new edition of the Sitges Festival will celebrate "The Year of the Wolf", paying homage to one of the main fantastic figures of the Seventh Art.

In this context and according to the official statement of the organization, this year "we will focus on the figure of the werewolf as the main iconographic representative of the classic theme of the inner beast or the internal duality in the human being".

At the same time, in this edition 2021 the half century of the premiere of "Walpurgis Night" will also be celebrated (Leon Klimovsky, 1971), one of the most popular installments of the national werewolf, the Waldemar Daninsky played by Paul Naschy.

As well as the 80th anniversary of the premiere of "The Wolf Man" (The Wolf Man, George Waggner, 1941), a Universal production starring Lon Chaney Jr.; the 40 years since the premiere of two popular and innovative versions of the character: "An American Werewolf in London" (An American Werewolf in London, John Landis, 1981) and "Howls" (The Howling, Joe dante, 1981).
