the Fiat 500 It arrives at the Museum of Modern Art New York
The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) New York acquired for its permanent collection an original model of a Fiat 500 serie F 1968, Sedan.
“Through its design and its importance in mid-century Italian history, the 500 embodies many of the principles that typified mid-century modern design and connects it to themes explored in works in the museum's collection”, pointed out from the institution in a press release.
“the Fiat 500 is an icon of automotive history that fundamentally altered automobile design and production”, said Martino Stierli, Director General of the Department of Architecture and Design at MoMA.
The New York museum already has seven cars in its collection, including a Cisitalia 202 GT Car from 1946, a jeep truck 1952 and a Ferrari Formula 1 Racing Car de 1990.
