“Funny wars”, The film that was released after the death of the famous director Jean-Luc Godard will be in charge of opening the eleventh edition of the Buenos Aires International Documentary Film Festival.

The screening of this film will be at the Blue Ballena of the Kirchner Cultural Center on Monday 2 October and within the framework of a double program that will also have “Cabaret FIDBA” at the beginning, a documentary theater production directed and performed by Miguel Zeballos and headed by Maruja Bustamante, Belén Gatti, Laura Névole and Anastasia María Benavente.

This Godard film was part of the last edition of the Cannes Festival and within the framework of FIDBA it will be exhibited as a Latin American Premiere.

Fabrice Aragno, one of the director's closest collaborators, evokes the gestation of this film as a work constructed to “create thought”; something that FIDBA considers necessary in these times.

On the other hand, The festival will extend until 8 October and will offer a new programming structure with three official competitions (Orbit, Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere with international feature films and shorts, Ibero-Americans and Argentines, respectively).

Likewise, The Italian programmer and critic Luciano Barisone will join the organization of the traditional meeting, who will be in charge of the Out of Competition section.: Carta Blanca to Luciano Berisone, dedicated this year to films of contemporary cinema from its country of origin.

Another section will be Brazil in Focus – Show Aurora, curated by Lila Foster - programmer of the Tiradentes Film Festival- and carried out with the support of the Brazilian Embassy.

further, in the new Panoramas section, composed of spotlights, retrospectives and special screenings, Contemplations will be presented: Chantal Akerman, about the Belgian director; Godard by Godard, a selection of some of the most memorable films of the nouvelle vague reference; and Ficciones de lo Real, which calls for productions that do not fall within the traditional documentary genre although they use reality as raw material..
