The National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) recently revealed its management report 2020, where he confirmed the contribution of a total of 1.255.437.155,52 million pesos to film production.

As explained through a press release, The entity chaired by Luis Puenzo included from this amount “partial payments of subsidies granted to 73 national films by virtue of their premiere in the program ‘Jueves Estreno’ to which nine more films were added, premiered at the same time as their presentation at the Mar del Plata International Festival ".

The report revealed that “a total of 82 National films benefited from access to the subsidy by electronic means despite the closure of theaters ".

At the same time, and looking to the future, “From the reactivation of the filming, We are working on the relaunch of the industry with a new Promotion Plan that will prioritize the cost recovery of a Medium Budget Film, as the law marks ".

The letter emphasizes that this amount "will also serve as a reference for the promotion and recovery of costs of productions that are carried out with lower or higher costs than those of the Medium Budget".

Furthermore, “the subsidies by electronic means were updated as of 1 September 2020 and added extra help up to 2 million pesos destined to cover expenses of the Protocol for the Prevention of Covid-19 to films that start or resume filming with a mass audience, average audience and winners of film and TV contests, fictional, animation, documentaries and short films ".

Regarding competitions, the report detailed that “a significant number of projects have been received in response to the federal tenders launched this year by 40.000.000 of pesos that will be repeated in the first quarter of next year ".

"Also," he added- animation contests eliminated in previous years will be relaunched. And INCAA contributed 2.500.000 pesos to each province, a total of 60.000.000 pesos for festivals and other national audiovisual actions ".

Among the international actions it was recalled that “Ibermedia will support 20 Argentine projects, with gender parity and a notable presence of documentaries: 14 co-productions, 6 of them majority, plus 6 project developments ".
