In search of promoting reading and empowering the publishing sector, the device of the Network of Public Libraries of the Ministry of Culture of the City, will tour the neighborhoods of Buenos Aires.

This series of tours will take place within the framework of the Itinerant Neighborhood Supply Fairs (FIAB). The call for independent publishers and bookstores interested in participating will be open until Wednesday 23 from December.

The purpose of the proposal is to awaken reading curiosity in the public space and to empower the independent publishing sector. In that context, from this device you can buy copies, join the Network of Public Libraries of the City, and access the system of loans and book returns.

Meanwhile, the call is an initiative of the Directorate General for the Promotion of Books, Libraries and Culture in coordination with the Editorial Area of ​​Impulso Cultural. It is aimed at independent booksellers and publishers that have legal domicile in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and want to participate in the Mobile Book Program within the framework of FIAB, to be held in different parts of the City.

Each publisher or bookstore will have a minimum of 4 consecutive dates in different FIAB. A minimum of fifteen and a maximum of thirty applicants will be selected from bookstores and publishers who will have space to display their books on the Mobile Book device.

The participation of independent booksellers and publishers that are selected for this initiative will be free and they will be able to exhibit their publications, carry out retail sales and loan of books in accordance with current regulations.

Independent publishers of the City may apply, independent publishing labels and bookstores legally established in CABA, con una antigüedad no menor a 1 year (que hayan iniciado actividades antes de octubre de 2019). Within that period they must have published at least 3 titles and that they have ISBN.

The participating city libraries may not be part of a commercial chain (cannot count on more than 2 branch offices). Its commercial activity should be mainly the sale of new books and / or publishing funds. Your offer available for sale must have a minimum of forty independent publishers based in the City of Buenos Aires. The booksellers must have a valid permit within the framework of Law No. 4.121 and that its commercial activity is mainly the sale of used books and magazines.
