The Museum of Fine Arts will honor Disney with a film series
The National Museum of Fine Arts will hold a free film cycle, to honor the centennial of Walt Disney Pictures.
The proposal will be with free admission and will take place between 7 July and 26 of August, including a total of six classics in the Friends of Fine Arts room, located on Avenida Figueroa Alcorta 2270.
Each show will start at 17 hours, both Friday and Saturday, with tickets that -although they are free- must be reserved in advance on the website of the traditional Buenos Aires venue.
As for programming, includes classic stainless like “Snow White” (1937), "Pinocchio" (1940), "Fancy" (1940), “Dumbo” (1941), "Cinderella" (1950) and "Sleeping Beauty" (1959), in original restored and remastered versions, that will be screened in their original language, with subtitles in Castilian.
Leonardo D'Esposito is the curator of the cycle, claims that for many, “Walt Disney is just a brand or a name. But nevertheless, the main thing is forgotten: Disney was one of the greatest contemporary artists, creator of a universal iconography with his characters”.
At the same time, he highlighted several of his qualities and defined him as "passionate about technological innovations"., since "its authentic purpose was to create works of art that could communicate the fantasy tradition of centuries to the materialistic universe of a time marked by science. There is no doubt that he succeeded.".
