The Cinema Museum will honor María Luisa Bemberg with an exhibition

The Pablo C Cinema Museum. Ducrós Hicken will carry out from this Thursday 26 of May a sample tribute to the scriptwriter and director María Luisa Bemberg, in the framework of the centenary of his birth.

“Bemberg, ideas must be lived” is the name of this proposal that will be officially inaugurated from the 18.30 in the traditional Caffarena venue 51, in the neighborhood of La Boca.

Reference within the history of our cinema, the exhibition on Bemberg (1922-1995) will have a large part of the collection that she personally donated to the Museum.

The exhibition includes a collection of portraits of the filmmaker throughout his life, shooting photographs and projections that give an account of his work making it dialogue with each other. It also gives an account of her cinematographic work from her beginnings as a screenwriter to her renowned work as a director..

During the tour, the public will also be able to enjoy selected images from his filmography, national and foreign posters of his films and the festival "La mujer y el cine", that she promoted together with other important women dedicated to national cinema. Other elements that account for its international and national significance, including vignettes by renowned humorists such as Landrú and Roberto Fontanarrosa.

It will also be possible to see the production display of his historical reconstruction films in all its aspects with costume pieces, designs by Graciela Galán for “Camila”, “Miss Mary”, and me, the worst of all ”, as multiple scenographic pieces carefully set.

On the other hand, in June and as a special activity that will take place alongside the exhibition, the following films will be screened:

Saturday 4: Moments (Argentina, 1980, 89 min)

Sunday 5: nobody's lady (Argentina, 1982, 98 min)

Saturday 11: Camila (Argentina-Spain, 1984, 88 min). The screening is repeated on Sunday 26.

Sunday 12: Miss Mary (Argentina, 1986, 100 min)

Saturday 18: Me, the worst of all (Argentina, 1990, 105 min). The screening is repeated on Saturday 25.

Sunday 19: That's not talked about (Argentina-Italy, 1993, 105 min)

These productions will be seen from the 18. At the same time, After the opening of the exhibition, the short films “El mundo de la mujer” will be screened. (Argentina, 1972) and “Toys” (Argentina, 1978), as the beginning of the cycle that reviews her work as a filmmaker.
