"Transformation. The overflowing graphic ”is the name of the brand new exhibition that can be enjoyed at the Engraving Museum from this Friday 26 February, under the curatorship of Silvia Dolinko and Cristina Blanco.

More than 70 works belonging to 40 artists who are part of the heritage of the traditional porteño enclosure, the exhibition will have its official opening at 17 and can be visited (with limited capacity and complying with strict sanitary controls) Thursday to Saturday until 20, with prior reservations on the platform Compartir.cultura.gob.ar.

Contemporary graphics overflows the historical limits of engraving and expands in different forms of intervention, review genealogies and consider extensive resources. "Transformation. The overflowing graphic ”builds bridges between the past and the present of this practice: proposes crosses between images of different temporalities that provide readings on the reconfiguration processes of the printed image.

In dialogue with this curator, The CASO Sound Art Center exhibits, at its headquarters on the 3rd floor, Emergency and nostalgia. Graphics and spellings in sound experimentation, curated by Florencia Curci, Alma Laprida and Martín Sandoval.

The proposal starts from a broad sense of the notion of transformation that includes the mutation of resources, poetics and procedures, the extension of intervention strategies, the activation of iconographies of questioning or mobilization. This exhibition proposes to show the power of graphics to promote both visual, cultural and social changes. Proposals for expanded graphics were selected and commissioned that propose answers to various problems: works that convey disruptive or experimental discourses, that account for the construction of affective communities and that highlight urgent sensitivities and problems, giving image to the searches for new artistic and social relationships through action with the printed image.

In this exhibition –which unfolds on the ground floor and floors 1, 2 and 4– artisan and industrial production coexist, the character of the printed and its drifts towards the immaterial. Selection includes woodcuts, lithographs, serigraphs, posters, publications, seals, stickers, projections, among other expressions of the graph, both from an individual authorship and from the collective enunciation. The multiple poetics, techniques and devices present on the route show the dynamics of expansion and transformation of this scene in recent decades.
