The Modern Museum inaugurates the exhibition "A 18 minutes from the sun
This Saturday 3 June will arrive at the Modern Museum of Buenos Aires the exhibition "A 18 minutes from the sun, an exhibition curated by Javier Villa.
The initial kick of the exhibition will be from 15 hours, where, in addition, the traditional Buenos Aires venue will propose a series of activities that will accompany the exhibition.
Through "To 18 minutes from the sun, the public will wonder about the possibility of using our relationship with heaven to retrace colonial stories through the work of one hundred Argentine artists.
The first of the activities in the exhibition will be the keynote talk given by the curator Javier Villa starting at 17, with the moderation of Fernando García. In this free proposal without prior registration, the artists Silvia Gurfein will also be present, Axel Straschnoy and Andrei Fernández, participating in the exhibition.
During the talk there will be a tour through the visual imaginaries displayed by science, art and popular culture ranging from manifestations of native peoples to modernism, cartoon and rock (the exhibition takes its name from an album by Luis Alberto Spinetta de 1978). A trip to the stars, before and after space conquest.
Later, Villa will also participate -at 18.30- of the guided tour, accompanied by the artists Eduardo Molinari and Maia Gattás Vargas, who also participate in the exhibition.
The Museum also offers educational activities for the whole family., such as participatory tours led by the educational team (15 hours).
The possibility of enjoying “From star to star I go” (of 15 a 19), the space of continuous exploration to immerse yourself in curious universes and the accessible tour of the exhibition "Sofía Torres Kosiba: Bravaria". Activity adapted for people with visual disabilities.
As well, from 16, the "Kaleidoscope" will be offered, an art workshop for families.
