After seven months due to the pandemic and subsequent quarantine, This Saturday the doors of the National Museum of Fine Arts will reopen, where the public can enjoy the permanent collection of the traditional Buenos Aires complex.

With reservation of shifts and respecting a strict sanitary protocol, the emblematic cultural building will display the works of its collection, only by opening the rooms located on the ground floor of the museum.

In that context, from the museum it was explained that the reopening will take place in a staggered manner, In other words, in this first stage, attendees will be able to see the Argentinean art works of the 19th century, the pieces of European art from the 16th to the 19th centuries and the Guerrico and Hirsch collections, that are part of the permanent collection of Fine Arts and are located in the lower area.

About the opening, Director Andrés Duprat explained that “this is good news that brings relief and hope in these difficult times” and added: "The Bellas Artes is one of the iconic spaces of the City of Buenos Aires and the fact that it reopens its doors will allow the public to rediscover its magnificent collection".

The hours to visit the Museum will be the usual: From Tuesday to Friday, of 11 a 20, Saturday and Sunday, of 10 a 20 (Monday: closed). Admission will be free and the Museum shop, managed by Amigos del Bellas Artes, will remain open at the same hours.

To book appointments virtually, Visitors must complete the form on the Museum's website (www.bellasartes.gob.ar). Reservations are individual and non-transferable, and each visitor must make their own.

Duprat explained that, regarding preventive measures, "We will open implementing the protocol approved by the authorities, implying, among other things, hygiene's norm, control, social distancing, specific routes and reduced capacity ”and emphasized that“ we have references from the experience of reopening several European museums with which we are in permanent communication. Anyway, like everything related to the pandemic, we will be very attentive to the development of events and news that may imply changes and rectifications ".
