"Mariano Pagés (1922-2009). A life for sculpture" is the name of the new exhibition that the Luis Perlotti Sculpture Museum will dedicate to the renowned artist.

This exhibition will have its official opening on Thursday 30 of May from 19 and then it can be seen from Friday 31 in the traditional porteño venue located in Pujol 644. The exhibition will be open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11 a 19 hours, and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 11 a 20 hours.

The new proposal covers its production between the years 1970-2004, where works cast in bronze and wood carvings have been selected that offer the viewer an overview of the great work of the famous and talented Argentine sculptor.

Throughout his national and international career, Mariano Pagés has experimented with various materials and scales., expressing his vocation for sculpture with the quality and skill that characterized him, Demonstrating it in distinguished productions, he is also the creator of emblematic public monuments..

His extensive knowledge enabled him to make sculptures using difficult techniques., textures and temperatures such as direct carving in stone, the marble, wood and ceramics, technique that makes possible a cast or Raku pottery. These pieces stand out and abound in his work, beginning with its delicate terracotta up to the sumptuous bronze figures in which the extraordinary final patina that the passage of time accentuates stands out., making them unique pieces.

His topics addressed were women, maternity, great personalities of culture and mythology, among others. He was a tireless worker in the field of art, not only as an artist who was repeatedly awarded for his magnificent work and contribution to Argentine sculpture, but also for his legacy in education as a professor at the Schools of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires., Mendoza and San Juan.
