Within the framework of the closing of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, the Ministry of Culture of the City will carry out two open-air screenings in the Centennial Park.

Both functions will be carried out in conjunction with the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and it will be this Saturday 28 November and December 1. Both productions will be seen in the Amphitheater of the property, with free access.

The chosen films are "Immortal", by Fernando Spiner and "The country of the last things", by Alejandro Chomski. The two functions will be from 20.15 and following strict health protocols.

It should be noted that the capacity of the enclosure is limited, reason for which a prior registration must be made at www.buenosaires.gob.ar/impulsocultural. It is worth adding that the day will be suspended in case of bad weather conditions.

In statements, the Minister of Culture of the City Enrique Avogadro highlighted the proposal and described it as "the most important audiovisual event of the year". He also highlighted the intention of "promoting the audiovisual industry that is central to the cultural ecosystem of the City".

Meanwhile, Luis Puenzo, INCAA director, stated that in "this difficult year has led us to rethink the Mar del Plata Festival online". But nevertheless, "Virtuality has allowed us to be 'really' federal. And in some parts of the country, where is possible, we recover the face-to-face cinema that we miss so much ".

Likewise, the president of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival Fernando Juan Lima assured that "this virtual edition, exception and opportunity at the same time, It has not implied that we stopped trying to generate instances of face-to-face meetings. The projections in several provinces and in the Centennial Park, in CABA (habitual headquarters of our beloved BAFICI) they are a special reason for joy and denote the festival's decision to return to theaters as soon as conditions allow it ".
