This Saturday 26 June will premiere "El Reñidero", Sergio de Cecco's play directed by Antonio Leiva that hits the stage of the Empire Theater.

With functions that will take place every Saturday from 20.30 and with tickets available through the Alternative Theater platform, the staging will feature performances by Yamila Gallione, Javier Salas, Tamara Paganini, Omar Ponti, Juan Pablo Rebuffi, Hermes Molaro, Juan Carlos Ucello and Rocío Belén Moragues.

The history of this work is located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, in 1905 and although it is a creation of De Cecco that had its beginning in 1962, has not expired.

The author rethought the eternal ideas and brought them to the suburb, where you live with stories and myths. It was said to be a version of Sophocles' Electra, but it only keeps a name from the tragedy, the one from Orestes, the son who must avenge his father: to Pancho Morales, the cutler fallen in a duel against Santiago Soriano. Orestes delays revenge, doubt, we see it as another Hamlet.

About the work, Leiva explains that "it is very important to me" and qualifies it as "a pending account for a long time".

In this context, the director points out that he saw the work for the first time in his teens at the Botanical Garden (1964) and from that moment “those images and texts that so impacted and moved me, fly through my mind ".
