The San Martín Theater presents "The resistible ascension of Arturo Ui"

In the framework of the historical review of those great works that passed through the San Martín Theater, this Saturday 13 June you can enjoy "The resistible ascent of Arturo Ui", work of Bertolt Brecht directed by Robert Sturua.

This show can be seen through the “Cultura en Casa” platforms and the website of the Buenos Aires Theater Complex (CTBA) from 20.

It is a work presented during the season 2005 of the CTBA, that took place in the Martín Coronado Hall of the traditional Buenos Aires compound, located on Avenida Corrientes.

The cast is made up of Fabián Vena, Roberto Carnaghi, Tony Lestingi, Marcelo Subiotto, Claudio Da Passano, Malena Figó, Ricardo Merkin, Jean Pierre Reguerraz, Gustavo Böhm, Ricardo Díaz Mourelle, Nestor Sanchez, Jorge Ochoa, Pablo Mariuzzi, Cacha Ferreira, Abián Vainstein, Enrique Latorre, Gerardo Serre, Marcelo Nacci, Gabriel Conlazo, Gonzalo Costa, Sebastián Suñé and Mariel Fernández.

As for the story, explains Hitler's rise to power, the action moves to Chicago in the midst of crisis and to the gangster world, trade and politics. Like a distorted and even laughable mirror of the German situation, Arturo Ui will come to power through terror, the crime, betrayal and deception.

The play was written in collaboration with Margarette Steffin during Brecht's Finnish exile, although it was finished in 1941, "The resistible ascension of Arturo Ui" was not published or represented in the life of its author.
