Religious tourism, a new proposal to know Buenos Aires
Discover, recognize and experience the religious and cultural traditions of Buenos Aires of yesteryear and Buenos Aires today, through five free tours of the city's places of worship, is the proposal of the General Directorate of Heritage, Museums and Historic Center for the months of March and April.
Pilgrimages, festivities, masses, blessings and contemplations are some of the manifestations that are part of a reunion with multicultural identity.
“Publicizing and promoting these expressions is a way of presenting ourselves as a religious and cultural destination that rescues its own, appreciates it and shows it attractive, both for foreign and national tourists and for the residents of our city”, organizers tell in a press release.
Religious tourism offers residents and tourists the possibility of recognizing characteristic rituals, spaces of worship and a wonderful panorama of the rich sacred art, animated by a spirit of adoration proper to believing sentiment.
Visits will begin on Thursday 16 to 10, where the churches of San Miguel Arcángel will be visited, San Juan Bautista and Presbiteriana San Andrés with meeting point in Bartolomé Miter 866.
The second meeting will be on 30 also the 10 to know: the Church of La Piedad, Mater Misericordae, Church of La Rábida and Church of Montserrat. The meeting will be on Belgrano Avenue 1151.
The third meeting will depart from Reconquista 207 to 10, with the idea of knowing the San Ramón Nonato Convent, the Church of la Merced, Metropolitan Cathedral, San Ignacio Church, Chapel San Roque, san francisco Church, Santo Domingo Church and Convent.(Date to be confirmed).
While, during the fourth tour to be held on Thursday 20 of April, at the same time as the previous ones, will be visited: Immaculate Conception, Chapel of the Holy House of Spiritual Exercises, Heart of Mary Church, Saint Catherine of Alexandria. The meeting point will be Avenida Independencia 910.
Finally, Thursday 27 to 10 Danish churches will be visited, San Telmo, Russian and Nordic with Azopardo meeting point 1422.
In case of rain in any of the circuits, it is rescheduled and the new completion date will be notified.
