Master Stroke, one of the most significant tribute bands to Queen today, is preparing to give a second concert to a full house at the Avenida Theater together with the Gospel Joy choir.

A few days from a new special date, the singer Ema Caradoso spoke with The sidewalk and anticipated part of what will be a real party for the fans of the legendary British band.

First, Master Stroke is a project that was born in 2016 and tell, besides Caradoso, with Brian Morua on guitars. Both made a series of versions of Queen that can be seen on YouTube.

Soon the band finished forming with the arrival of Manuel Olveira on bass and Agustín Albertini on drums Alberto Ludueña on keyboards.

Despite the short time on the road, the group knew how to reap great achievements, among which is having been highlighted by Brian May himself through his social networks and having been part of the great project carried out by Ángel Mahler with his show "Symphonic Bohemian Rhapsody" at the Teatro Coliseo.

excited, Caradoso explains that they are “rehearsing together with the Gospel Joy choir, so that everything sounds better every time” and in turn “anxious and expectant that it will be Friday, to live another night in the imposing Avenida theater”.

First of all, It is worth noting that there are few tickets left for this Friday 16 September and can be purchased through Ticket Portal or at the ticket offices of the remodeled Buenos Aires venue located on Avenida de Mayo 1222.

What does it generate for them to have had two functions completely filled?

Very surprised by the success that this new proposal is having. We are excited to see the great response from people!! For us it is an engine that motivates us to continue doing this, what we do with pure love and passion.

What can be anticipated regarding what the public will see on Friday?

A show for all the senses, on the one hand, we will be with a choir of 18 singers on stage, replicating all the choral arrangements that Queen songs have in their studio versions and on that concept we are going to go through all its stages, with its great classics, without overlooking, its b-sides and pearls that the band has in its extensive career. All this accompanied by a great set of lights and visuals!!

Such strong and classic images of a true 'frontman' like Freddie Mercury or a true guitar legend like May himself raise the bar for any artist who wishes to perform and honor them.. for that very reason, For the singer of Master Stroke, the most difficult thing about this proposal is "to rise to the occasion".

It also stresses that the group believes that "paying tribute does not go through imitation, but for managing to transmit what the songs generate, that the listener manages to connect with the music, and with that energy that Queen had live. And that goal entails a multi-stage work, from the sound, until polishing each arrangement of each song, but above all it is the interpretive part, since transmitting emotions is the essence of our project”.

How has it been for you to coexist on the same stage with more than 20 musicians?

With the Gospel Joy choir we have achieved an incredible ensemble, added to the fact that we already come with two shows above in this format and that means that when it comes to being all on stage, everything flows more and more, which increases the interaction and complicity between us.

Having received such praise from Brian May himself surely had a before and after for you.. Do you remember the moment when you first read it?? How would you define that moment??

And, I remember being on Instagram and suddenly seeing our “Don't Stop Me Now” video on Brian May's feed., and my first reaction was not being able to process what was happening. It was entering again and again, to check that this was real. And when I read the text that he put praising the work we did on that song and that he closed with the phrase "...Freddie would also be very happy..." it was pure emotion, a unique gift.

May's own compliment to the band

Has that compliment made an impact on the number of people who follow them?? Did it open more doors for you??

I feel that somehow it put us in a prestigious place and people who don't know us and find out, makes him even more interested in listening to us

Could you imagine being part of an experience similar to what you lived in the Ángel Mahler Symphony?

The truth is that it was a great surprise for us since that proposal was given to us, very shortly after Master Stroke began to be active. We couldn't believe that a few months after starting to play, We were going to be part of the Angel Mahler symphony doing a whole summer season at the Coliseo theater in CABA!

of those concerts, Was there any detail that until that moment they had not taken into account and decided to capture in subsequent shows?

have had such a great experience, It helped us a lot to tan big scenarios, understand how to join together 30 musicians under a musical direction, and also learn the timing that has that level of productions.

What does queen mean to you?

Queen is a band out of series, it is pure emotion, Energy, is to live the music to the surface. For us to be able to interpret their songs, It generates an immense pleasure that remains intact as if it were the first time.

Ema Caradoso plans a future for Master Stroke in the short term to "be able to go on tour throughout Argentina with this new format", and in the long term "I would tell you to start taking our shows to other countries".
